My dad is my hero

Happy Father's day to my papa! Thank God we get to celebrate it still with him this year. :)

Also it's our National hero's birthday today, Jose Rizal.

It's a day for heroes and yes my dad is my hero. I know a lot of us would say the same thing. As what Phil said in Modern Family --as a dad it is our job to make sure our kids are safe and be there when they need us. My dad is that exactly.

I know he is human but I also know he is close to perfection in terms of fatherhood. Yes, he did gave me some heartaches but I think I gave him a lot more...haha. My dad is selfless...as in. He is hardworking, generous and understanding. And of course he was loving! He is extremely likable. He is sometimes stubborn but he was tolerable as he was tolerant. This post is kinda making me emotional. Only because all I remember when I describe him is how he was pre-sickness. This sickness took away part of my dad for almost a year now and I miss those parts. I miss the conversations, the activities together, the unsolicited advice, the hugs, the words of worry, the gifts (haha)...and a lot more. But I am still grateful we still have him. We can still talk to him, hug him, kiss him, make him comfortable and just be with him. I really, really, really hopes he gets better. He doesn't deserve any of the pain and hardship this sickness is giving him. I trust the Lord that this too shall pass...and that he may have reasons but all will be for the better.

Happy Father's day to all dads esp to my Lolo, uncles: Toti, Noli, Caloy, Mon, Edwin, Dan, Henry, Reyno, cousins : Noel, Allan, Empoy Mak, Randy, Jay and all my friends and friend's spouses...be heroes y'all! :)
